This is a 12th scale copy of a real 18th Century French desk sold at Sotherbys for an eye watering $362,500. The original was designed by François Linke 1855-1946 and is considered an important Bureau de dame. Made in Paris with an index number 707 it was probably made in 1909. It was thought to belong to the Maharaja of Baroda

Every detail has been copied and the kit allows you plenty of scope to reproduce to the original which was wood and gilt or be more adventurous and paint it in colours of your choice such as gilt and black or cream and black. There are only two variations (apart from the obvious!) from the original - firstly the drawers are fixed and do not open and secondly the central clock has been replaced by a circle for you to apply your own clock face...however the resin can be drilled and therefore this central section could be removed should you wish to insert a real clock.

The kit consists of a resin upper part and all the legs and accessories are metal. All items are fresh from the mould so need to be filed and tidied before gluing and painting.

The kit is easy to assemble.  You can use super glue (i like to also use an activator) or epoxy resin.
