10% Tax applied to all USA orders

As of today (19th August '25) all orders I receive from American customers that request a delivery to the USA will be subject to 10% tax. The USA administration has removed the "free of tax" option for all imports under $800 from the UK and all parcels entering the USA as of 29th August will be subject to a 10% import tax. To explain this simply we have to charge our American customers 10% tax. Basically we collect the tax from you then this is then declared before the parcel leaves the UK. We then pay Royal Mail the 10% that you have paid us  and they forward this to the USA government. If we did not collect the import tax before your parcel leaves the UK then the USA administration would levy a minimum import tax on you of $80 regardless of the cost of the goods. 

In light of the fact that we see changes happening all the time with the USA administration the above could be likely to change. However, as of now, Royal Mail and USPS are working very hard to put into place systems that will guarantee a smooth delivery of your parcel. It is of course not without some concern that in the initial stages there might be some delays based on the fact that now millions of parcels have to be checked when they arrive in the USA. Please expect some delays as your parcel makes it way through customs. 
In addition to the 10% import tax you may also be asked to pay tax on the type of item. All products are made in the UK so there would be no confusion as to this but there could be another 4% which is payable when the parcel arrives in America. We are not expecting this to be the case and would be almost impossible for the postal service to manage but please be aware that it could happen. 
The UK and America have always had a very easy trade agreement that was specifically designed for small business like myself to send to the USA without complication. Both the UK and the USA  benefited from the special agreement. With this now about to be lifted we shall, of course, support our friends across the pond in anyway that we can. 
If you have placed an order prior to 19 August 2025 then we will aim to despatch your order within the next day or two so that your parcels reach the USA before the 29th August. 


Shared Gallery Update
As of May 2025 the Shared Gallery App that was used by people to share images of their work on my website is no longer available. Users of WIX (the website  development platform) have removed the app from general use and it is no longer available to anyone. My apologies to all those who wished to upload their work to my site but also thank you to everyone who chose to share their work with us. I know you inspired many with your creations and finishes. If I can find an alternative place for you to showcase your work I shall update you asap.

Launch of New Designs

Yeh!!! If all goes to plan here at AD HQ then I hope to have a launch of new design on the 29th August to coincide with Kensington Dollshouse Online Showcase. I am preparing the new designs and getting the workshop ready for the launch. If time permits I shall also be listing some of my rejects (always a hot favorite for those who love a DIY bargain). In addition I support a family in Bangladesh who have been beavering away to produce some very pretty painted pieces that I hope you will enjoy....the profits from the sales on these items go directly to the family in Bangladesh. Your support will make a huge difference to their lives.
