12th scale Spiral staircase kit.
This simply beautiful spiral staircase is copied from a Polish original found in an abandoned house.
Each step has stunning filligree and comes with a beautiful bannister post and rail.
The bottom step is slightly different to the other steps as it has a little base finial to finish it off.
The staircase is sold in "steps" with a bottom step option.
Each step measures approx. 15.25mm high x 37mm deep x 68mm wide
The Upright posts are approx. 81mm high with the handrail adding another 2mm to the height.
Bottom Step Kit contents:
1 x step
1 x Bottom hand rail (this is the longer handrail)
1 x Short top handrail
2 x Bannister posts
1 x Little floor flange
1 x Length 12" steel rod (for you to cut to size) (not shown)
Step kit contents:
1 x step
1 x Bannister post
1 x handrail section
Ideally your staircase steps will need to come below or level with your upper floor.
Here is an approximate idea of what you would need to create an 8" (203mm) high staircase:
1 x Bottom step kit
12 x Steps
Total cost excluding carriage: £111.25
Construction
This is a slightly harder kit to construct as it has to be supported during the build.
You will need superglue and a superglue activator (this simply sets the glue instantly and makes the whole job easier).
Always start with the bottom step but it can be constructed outside of the dolls house and then inserted when finished. Your only issue might be that you wont be able to secure the central rod into the floor and the ceiling. Ideally the floor would be added after the stairs are in position.
Stock
The staircase is always held in stock but if you order and we are a little low on stock then we shall need to make to order and this might add on a number of weeks. Please let me know when ordering if your order is urgent.
Notes
- The kit is made from Pewter alloy (no lead) and is a very soft metal. It is easily bent. If your items arrive and are slightly bent they can be easily bent back into shape without too much fear of damaging them.
- All kits are fresh from the moulds and require a certain degree of tidying up. You will need to use a pair of fine snips and a miniature file to remove and smooth any casting spurs.
- We advise that all metal kits are painted with a metal primer before painting. We use a metal spray primer as it avoids lumps and brush marks.
