Tremeau Mirror

A tremeau mirror is a wall mirror (sometimes refered to as a pier mirror) that was manufactured in France in the later 18th century. The mirror was almost invariably rectangular with a decorative carving or painted scene being the dominant feature of the mirror. It was designed to sit between two windows and would often copy the shape of the window.
